Deserted Gas Station

Cruel Irony

In my work, I teach and drive teach and drive teach and drive all week long. Because of this, gas is a major weekly or twice-weekly purchase for me, a pretty decent chunk of my budget.

To help me out with this, my husband (who always does the grocery shopping), shops at a store that rewards his account with 10, 20, even 30 cents off per gallon of gas at the stations I use. He never uses these rewards himself, always leaving them for me.  Because of all the shopping for supplies, the rewards are now up to over 30 cents off per gallon.  Gas right now is almost down to $1.60 in my area.

Cruel irony:  my tank remains full. I have nowhere to go.

Laugh or cry?
